Summer 2011 Registration Directions: WAIT LIST Forming

Registration is now open for the 2011 OYLA Summer teams. Boys in third through eighth grade can register for the summer season. Girls in sixth through eighth grade as well. The season begins in early May and will conclude with the District and State Tournaments on July 30th and 31st. Registration is on a first come first served basis. Registration will close on April 15, 2011.

The Boys divisions will be 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th grades. Girls division is 6th/7th/8th combined. The season begins end of May and runs through July (State Tournament is the last weekend in July). Practices will begin when the fields are available in May.

Participants are required to be members of US Lacrosse. Members will receive comprehensive insurance coverage, Lacrosse magazines, plus other benefits. The youth membership fee is $25 and is paid directly to USL. in addition to the Orono Youth Lacrosse Association registration fee of $150 for 3rd / 4th or $275 for the 5/6 and 7/8 grade levels. The registration fee includes uniforms, referees, field fees, coach fees, goalie equipment (for each team) and membership in Youth Lacrosse Minnesota.
ALL players will need to be current as of April 2011 with their US Lacrosse numbers. If your player’s membership expires some time during this season, you will need to renew before the season starts. ALL players must show proof of lacrosse number and expiration date at time of registration.

• Registrations must be received by April 15, 2011. Up to April 15th, registration priority will be given to players residing in the Orono School District (#278). If there is space on a team, players from other school districts will be included on a team based on the order (by date) the registration was received by OYLA.  After April 15th until the close of registration, OYLA will work on a first come - first served basis.
• Players residing in a district that currently has a YLM association must register with that association. Exceptions are allowed for open-enrolled students and private school students. In both cases, players may register with the association in that community.
Equipment: Full gear must be worn for all practices and games. Full gear for boys consists of a lacrosse helmet (white preferred), mouth guard, shoulder & elbow pads, athletic cup, stick, and lacrosse gloves. Additional gear for goalies will be supplied by the association. Hockey helmets / gloves will not be allowed.
